About the Random Charades Generator
Charades collapses when the prompts are film titles nobody has seen. Every entry here is a physical action instead: threading a needle, parallel parking, folding a fitted sheet, tiptoeing past a sleeping dog. Actions can be mimed by a six year old and a grandparent alike, which keeps a mixed room in the game.
The set covers household chores, sports, travel mishaps, cooking, music and animal handling, so consecutive rounds do not feel repetitive. Difficulty is deliberately uneven: some prompts are guessed in two seconds, others take a full minute, and that variation is what keeps scores close.
Generate ten with no repeats for a single evening, or forty for a party where every guest takes a turn. Print the download with one prompt per line, cut the lines into strips and fold them into a bowl, which is still the fastest way to run the game without phones on the table. For a version where players draw instead of mime, the same prompts work well, and the Shuffle Lines tool reorders a saved list so a second night with the same strips plays differently.
How to use
- Set how many prompts your group needs, roughly one per turn.
- Keep no repeats on so nobody acts out the same thing twice.
- Press Generate, then download the list and cut it into strips for a bowl.
Common questions
- Are these suitable for children?
- Yes, every prompt is a simple physical action with no film, celebrity or adult references.
- How many prompts are available?
- One hundred and five actions, spread across chores, sports, travel, cooking and everyday mishaps.
- Can I use them for a drawing game instead?
- They work well for that too, since each prompt describes a scene that is easy to sketch.
- How many should I generate for a party?
- Roughly one per turn. Forty prompts comfortably covers an evening with eight players.
