About the Random NCAA Basketball Team
This picker holds 89 Division I men's basketball programs, from the blue bloods that fill the top seed lines down to the mid-major regulars who ruin brackets every March. Each entry carries the nickname and the conference the school currently plays in, so a draw of "Gonzaga Bulldogs (West Coast)" tells you where the team sits without a second lookup.
The conference labels follow the realignment that moved UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington into the Big Ten, sent Cal, Stanford and SMU to the ACC, and put the four corner schools into the Big 12. If you want a straight bracket-pool assignment, ask for as many teams as you have entrants and leave repeats switched off, which deals each participant a different program. Turning repeats on is only useful when you want a weighted feel rather than a clean draw.
