About the Personality Generator
A usable personality profile needs four different kinds of information, not four adjectives. This tool prints a social type, then a strength, a flaw, a quirk and a fear, each drawn from its own list of about seventy phrases. The quirk is what an audience sees first, the fear is what the story eventually needs, and the strength and flaw are what make the middle worth reading.
Everything is written as behaviour. "Keeps a spare notebook unopened" and "afraid of the last ferry leaving" put something on the page, where a label like anxious does not. Because the four lines are independent draws, they sometimes contradict each other, and a profile that contradicts itself is usually closer to a real person than a tidy one.
Game masters use one profile per named NPC and never need more. Novelists tend to keep the quirk and the fear and rewrite the rest in their own words. Improvisers read the whole card and start talking. If you only want the surface and the hidden half, the Character Trait Generator prints just that pair, and the DND Name Generator supplies the name to put at the top of the card.

Common questions
- Why does the profile contradict itself sometimes?
- The lines are drawn independently, and people are contradictory. A profile that does not quite fit together is often the more interesting one.
- Is this based on a personality test?
- No. It is a writing tool, not an assessment, and the introvert or extrovert label is only a starting note for how the character behaves in a room.
- How many profiles are possible?
- Around 71 million, since four lists of roughly seventy entries combine with three social types.
- Can I use these for NPCs?
- Yes. One profile per named NPC is usually enough for a table to remember who they are talking to.
